Netflix’s hit series, Stranger Things, is celebrating its third season in style.Rhodé Marshall takes a look at this cool 80s-inspired Levi’s and Stranger collection.

Netflix’s cult hit, Stranger Things, which started its third season this week, is bringing the show closer to fans by collaborating with retail brands such as Nike, H&M and Levi’s. #Trending’s personal favourite is the Levi’s collab, which brings a little bit of Hawkins to our IRL wardrobe.

Stranger Things follows paranormal events in the fictional town of Hawkins, Indiana, in the mid-80s. It’s nostalgic and filled with 80s pop-culture references – think Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, glam rock and video games. Since Levi’s was a staple of 80s fashion, it makes sense that the characters would regularly sport a wide array of their products.

Levi’s worked with the Stranger Things wardrobe team and leveraged its extensive archives to help round out period pieces for a wide range of characters in the show. The two teams created special, authentically replicated looks from the 80s for two fan favourites on the show: Eleven and Dustin.

Not only will these full looks appear in the show, they’ll also be available for purchase.

From this month you’ll be able to go into selected Levi’s stores and buy the Camp Know Where Ringer Tee worn by Dustin. In addition, you can buy tees and sweatshirts with Stranger Things graphics and phrases; jeans with hi-res character images; special edition Levi’s sundries such as upside down patches and red tabs (a nod to the Upside Down, of course), and a one-of-a-kind Levi’s Batwing tee that uses the Stranger Things title graphics.

  • Price ranges from R349 to R1299
