Throughout his time as the host of his popular podcast, Podcast and Chill with MacG, Macgyver Mukwevho, more affectionately known to his fans as MacG, has made headlines for his controversial and sometimes unsavoury hot takes.

This time the media personality is making headlines for all the right reasons, after he popped the question to his longtime girlfriend Naledi Monamodi.

The engagement happened during his Roadto1million show, at the Sunbet Arena on Sunday July 30, where he celebrated the milestone of reaching 1 million subscribers on his YouTube channel, where his fans go to watch his bi-weekly podcast episodes.

During his speech, Mukwevho talked mostly about his journey with Monamodi and the struggles they went through to finally get to where they are.

“[While I was] broke, didn’t have any money, I crashed at her apartment, that was just a small corner. But we chilled, and she stuck by me. She's the only woman who stuck by me, even when I didn’t have a show and I was a nobody. The stories I could tell about this lady, she's just so incredible,” he shared.

He also spoke about how proud he was to be sharing the moment with all the people he loved, referring to all the Chillers - the name given to his adoring fans, who came to show their support and packed the arena on all sides.

He then took a knee and popped the question to Monamodi, who was surprised to say the least.

The two shared an intimate moment while both kneeling on the floor and shedding a few tears. Their son Ziggy also seemed to be overjoyed that his father had popped the question, as he happily paced the floor. The proposal was met with resounding cheers from the crowd and a resounding yes from his bride-to-be.

It seems the two have shared a lot together over the years, they also share two children together, and welcomed their second born child earlier this year.

While not much is known about how long the couple has been together, a little bit of social media stalking suggests that the two have been keeping their relationship under the radar since 2018, their storyhas been documented in posts from MacG. With one posted on January 2 2018, that features him and a mystery woman, and a comment from Monamodi with a heart and heart eyes emoji's. Monamodi has also documented her relationship with a mystery man on her YouTube channel for years, in a series of story times, which highlight the roller coaster ride they have been on over the years.

While many think Monamodi’s fame came through her now fiancé, it seems she’s also had quite the career in the media industry.

The two have kept much of their relationship away from the public eye, which in turn has sheltered her and their children from the scrutiny that Mukwevho is usually met with online. She was born in 1994, and was primarily raised in Klerksdorp, in the North West.

The lifestyle influencer seems to have her hands in all media cookie jars, with a following of almost 30 000 on her Instagram, a feat considering her account on the platform is private.

The two also seem to be in the business of conducting business together as they launched their own gin brand called Grandeur Gin, a line of premium gins that have been described as, "bespoke and proudly South African, made for those who appreciate and celebrate the majestic grandeur and simplicity of African excellence."

Monamodi is also a public relations coordinator with Roth Media Productions, which is a position she has held since 2017. The content creator has her own show on YouTube called Toast with Naledi, which is featured as one of DSTV’s shows exclusively on YouTube, where she touches on food, lifestyle and relationships. She is also set to launch a new YouTube channel called #DoLess the Podcast.

Mukwevho seems to have bagged himself a baddie, with just as many hustling chops as him. Next up is the countdown to the big day and maybe even an exclusive special on the YouTube channel for all of Mukwevho’s loyal Chillers.

Social media is abuzz, as congratulatory messages and posts are pouring in, congratulating the podcast host on finally proposing to Monamodi after all these years, here is what they are saying:
