This year, the masks fell and lockdowns were done away with, paving the way for lights, camera and action to resume in the entertainment industry on various stages.

South Africans flooded concert venues as they returned to the party scene, free to mingle in venues withcapacity crowds.

Awards shows and the Miss SA pageant dropped their virtual ways and were once again allowed to celebrate with audiences in attendance.

Here is a look at how the country dusted off its dancing shoes for a night on the town in 2022:
