I am just as bored of reboots as the next person, and the fact that we’re just more than a month away from the reboot of one of my favourite cult classics, Mean Girls, is definitely stirring my anxiety. 

When the film was released in 2004, it became the object of young girls' affection all over the world and gave us a myriad of iconic lines we still use today. From Regina George’s cool mom to Cady Heron being asked why she was white and from Africa, there’s very little not to like about Mark Waters’ original Mean Girls.

As far as reboots go, they’re never entertaining enough and seldom ever meet the same kind of critical acclaim as their original counterparts, but, with all the hype surrounding 2024’s Mean Girls, like many, I might just have to eat my words.
