Celebrities can’t quite seem to catch a break. Having your name at the disposal of almost anyone and your life documented in the public eye for everyone to see rarely ever seems like a good idea, but this is the reality that celebrities and public figures live with.

Add to that the age of the internet and internet trolls, and you have the perfect recipe to become a villain in the eyes of people who don’t know you. The latest celebrity to feel the wrath of social media outrage is actress Zenande Mfenyana.

The former Generations actress has gotten quite a reputation for being unpleasant and mean over the years.

The origins of the Zenande Mfenyana hate train are still unclear, although it seems that Mfenyana first came under fire after talking about how hard it was to deal with helpers in 2020.

In a since-deleted Twitter post, she wrote:

Helpers are exhausting, yerrr.

This resulted in a backlash from various Twitter users, who took no time to call her evil and unkind.

Over the years, Mfenyana has continuously come under fire for the way she has interacted with her fans. In 2021, she was called out after talking about an interaction with a cashier who couldn’t remember her name or where she acted.

Though the interaction started innocently, it ended with Mfenyana not really acknowledging the fact that the cashier knew her from somewhere.

The Twitter post read:

No matter what she does, it seems the actress cannot find redemption in the eyes of the public, and it seems to get to her.

In another deleted heartfelt Twitter post on Sunday, Mfenyana wrote:

I've grown so accustomed to being hated that I don't know how to receive love anymore.

While some fans shared messages of love and light under the post, it took the internet trolls no time to clap back at the actress ,with one Twitter user saying:

Zenande Mfenyana is mostly rude and moody towards people, but now she pretends as if the hate she gets comes from nowhere. The character Noluntu was the real her just that she had an opportunity to hide behind the character. If she changes her attitude, maybe things will change.

While another recalled an altercation with Mfenyana at the beginning of her career as a journalist. She remembered having such love and admiration for Mfenyana, but was quickly shut down when Mfenyana dragged her on Twitter.

In case you’ve missed the Mfenyana hate train, here is what people are saying about her:
