The Covid-19 pandemic was a shock to South Africa’s healthcare sector and to the socioeconomic wellbeing of our country and offered a stark illustration of the close relationship between the two.

It also illustrated how a coordinated response between government and the private sector allowed our country to navigate its way through this crisis, probably the greatest challenge we have faced as a nation since the transition to democracy.
