In the historic workers’ month, Employment and Labour Minister Thulas Nxesi was reported in the Sowetan of May 8 2020 as having unveiled plans to limit the hiring of foreign nationals in certain sectors of the economy through legislative measures.

According to the report, this may include sectoral targets or quotas for foreign nationals.

It is said that this is not new and happens across the world.
