A R100-million waste treatment plant, which can clean water from landfills and other industrial processes, was launched in Mpumalanga on Wednesday.
"The treatment plant is launched at our waste management facility in Delmas, Mpumalanga, as this is where the plant was built," said Kate Stubbs, group business development and marketing director at Interwaste.
Interwaste is a waste-management company in South Africa. It led the development of the plant and self-funded it. The plant can recover 80% to 90% of clean and reusable water from various industries, including manufacturing, mining, and oil and gas, said Stubbs.
