De Beers has reaffirmed its commitment to investing in the Northern Cape, despite moving its sight-holder facility out of the province. 

The grand opening of De Beers' new facility for sight holders - or authorised bulk purchasers - in Johannesburg marks a move of the sales and sorting centre out of the Northern Cape, wherein the world's leading diamond company built its fortunes from the Kimberly mine, known as the world's richest diamond mine for over a century.
