Online retail group Takealot, which also owns Mr D and Superbalist, plans to have all three of its divisions profitable within the next two financial years.

The group's key business, Takealot.com, has already been profitable for the past two financial years, but its other newer units, delivery business Mr D and clothing retailer Superbalist, have yet to achieve this milestone.

Overall, the group reported a $13 million (about R223 million) loss for the six months to September, the first half of its 2023 year, even as the market had been hoping the 11-year-old business would turn profitable.
