Oil giant BP has been dealt another blow in its attempt to claim back R220 million in tax refunds from the SA Revenue Service (SARS) over fuel it says was exported to Zimbabwe.
The High Court in Pretoria has dismissed BP's bid for leave to appeal an earlier ruling that found it did not qualify for the refunds.
The judgment is a win for SARS, which has consistently refused to pay the refunds, saying there is no evidence the diesel BP says it sent to Zimbabwe left the country.
