Game is revamping its stores, with a focus on offering more fashionable furniture - along with a strategy to sell cheap nappies and appliances, in what may be the last roll of the dice for the 52-year-old retailer.
Its sales have been shrinking for four of the five past years, with no sign of a turnaround. Its 2021 sales were even down 8% compared to 2020, when hard lockdowns kept shoppers out of stores.
In recent years, the retailer spent billions on a failed attempt to enter the food market, and was forced to exit its east and west Africa stores.
