David Ndlovu thought he was good at his job, so when his CEO ordered the entire sales team to go home and reflect on their poor performance, he put up his hand. "Why am I included in this?" he asked.
It was the start of an interaction that cost the insurance salesman his job: two months later he was fired for gross insubordination.
Nearly four years on, Ndlovu has been reinstated after the Johannesburg Labour Court confirmed a ruling by the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation, and Arbitration (CCMA) that he was unfairly dismissed.
