For the past 55 years, Spur has been the go-to restaurant for carnivores looking for their fix of sticky ribs and juicy steaks, but recently, its owner has been expanding its menu with an array of plant-based dining options.
Although the family restaurant, which was established in 1967, has grown into the JSE-listed Spur Corporation - with brands such as Panarottis, RocoMamas, John Dory’s and The Hussar Grill under its belt – to many consumers, the brand continues to be renowned for the meaty menu at its flagship eatery.
However, the company since entered a new era, as plant-based diets have seen increasing demand from consumers.
