Ninety One leads local asset management size rankings

Ninety One, the asset manager that was spun out of Investec in March 2020, leads the rankings of local fund managers with the largest SA-owned asset base.

The fund manager, which used to be known as Investec Asset Management, was the top-ranked in terms of assets under management (AUM) held by SA clients, according to the 2023 Alexforbes Manager Watch survey of retirement fund investment managers. The survey, which has been published since 1994, only focuses on assets owned by SA clients and excludes those held on behalf of clients in other jurisdictions.
