Planet of the vapes: Industry wants govts to rethink tax on tobacco alternatives

Tobacco industry leaders are calling on the World Health Organisation (WHO) as well as governments across the globe to rethink regulation and taxing of tobacco alternatives, as debate rages on over whether these products signal a commitment to harm reduction – or a cynical attempt whitewash nicotine consumption.

Captains of industry were speaking at events including the Phillip Morris International (PMI) open day in Lausanne, Switzerland and the Global Forum on Nicotine (GFN) in Warsaw, Poland, last week.
