Global energy giant Shell has appointed long-time employee Ian Scott as its new SA VP as part of a new in-country focus aimed at tackling ongoing pressure on its profit margins.
The appointment, effective 1 July, also comes as Shell SA is adjusting to a major change in its downstream business following the closure of the Sapref refinery, which it jointly owns with BP. The refinery was shuttered in February last year and severe damage caused by floods in April scuppered plans to secure a buyer for the facility.
