It has been nearly seven months since Adidas split with the rapper formerly known as Kanye West, and boxes of his popular Yeezy shoes are still piled up in warehouses, AP reported.
Adidas ended its partnership with him over his antisemitic comments almost seven months ago. Now the company still has $1.3 billion (R24 billion) worth of unsold Yeezy shoes.
In its latest results, Adidas said sales in North America had fallen by 20% as the region was particularly affected by the ending of the Yeezy business, the BBC reported.
Adidas chief executive Bjorn Gulden said the loss of Yeezy is "of course hurting us".
Gulden was, however, optimistic about the rest of the year, Reuters reported. The Terrace shoe style is doing well in all markets, he added, and Adidas has started to make more Samba, Gazelle, and Campus shoes.
