More than eight million South Africans may lose access to television signals at the end of June when analogue TV transmitters are switched off, broadcaster e.tv has argued.
Government is in the process of switching from analogue to digital television, which will free up spectrum that could be auctioned off to mobile carriers or wireless broadband companies.
But according to e.tv, roughly 2.5 million SA households could be left without any television signals at all when the final switch-over takes place.
