The Department of Mineral Resources (DMRE) says it is bolstering efforts to root out dodgy fuel, especially in high-risk areas identified in Limpopo, KwaZulu-Natal and the North West.
When recently quizzed by the Democratic Alliance (DA) in Parliament about his department's efforts to clamp down on dodgy fuel, the Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy, Gwede Mantashe, said the DMRE intended to extend testing of fuel to more service stations to establish the "full extent and challenges confronting the sector on fuel quality".
