As long as we have little or no confidence in our economic prospects, we will keep falling behind the rest of the continent, writes Nolwandle Mthombeni.

This year our economy really needs more confidence - specifically business and consumer confidence. Both have taken a knock in the last few years and it has had a profound impact on our GDP growth.

We cannot repeatedly expect the global investment community to deploy billions of dollars into a country where its own citizens are neither certain nor confident about the country's prospects.
