Platinum City Rovers 0-2 Magesi FC

Magesi FC moved six points clear at the top of the Motsepe Foundation Championship table with a 2-0 win over Platinum City Rovers on Wednesday afternoon.

A stunning strike from Mcedi Vandala gave the league leaders the front foot earlier in on and ultimately went in to the break with the advantage.

The dominance continued for the promotion-chasing host who extended the lead shortly after the interval through a cool finish from Abbey Seseane and saw the clash to a close.

University of Pretoria 1-1 JDR Stars

University of Pretoria lost further ground with Magesi FC following a 1-1 draw with JDR Stars in the Tshwane derby.

After no goals in the opening period, the resumption got off in decent stakes and saw the host go ahead courtesy of a scrambled effort by Malekgene Mampuru.

The Hammerboys didn’t go down without a fight, but were able to bounce back very swiftly to claim a point and dent the home side’s promotion hopes.

Milford Stallions 4-3 Casric Stars

Milford Stallions bounced back from a two-goal deficit to overcome Casric Stars 4-3 and continued to dent the visitors play-off aspirations.

On-loan Kaizer Chiefs man Lebohang Lesako put the visitors ahead after seven minutes, but it was cancelled five minutes later by the counterparts.

Stars did though regain the advantage eight minutes before halftime through a decent finish from Tlotlo Leepile after Milford went to sleep at the back.

The visitors extended the lead in the second half from a spot-kick by Nyembe, but a dramatic turnaround by Milford saw them come from the cusp of defeat to claim all the points.

NB La Masia 2-1 Pretoria Callies

NB La Masia brushed off a 12-match winless run and edged out Pretoria Callies 2-1 to cement 13th spot and stay well clear from the drop zone.

With the contest level at halftime, the host managed to show all of the courage afterwards and walked away with all the points in the end.

Marumo Gallants FC 1-0 Black Leopards

Marumo Gallants FC jumped out of the bottom-two and eased their relegation worries with a late 1-0 win over Black Leopards.

It’s their third win on the bounce, with Lidoda Duvha brought down to earth after their dominant display over the weekend against Orbit College.

There were no goals recorded in the first half before Bahlabane Ba Ntwa hit the ground running past the interval and claimed the winner courtesy of Thapelo Mokobodi.

Upington City 0-1 Baroka FC

Baroka FC moved closer to third spot and the play-off positions in the Motsepe Foundation Championship with a 1-0 win over Upington City on Tuesday.

The Limpopo boys have now secured consecutive wins following a recent barren run and are in the running for a late play-off push.

Upington, who threatened a top-three push recently have now dropped one spot from seventh to eight after Bakgaga Ba Ga Mphahlele bagged the winner late in the contest.

Orbit College 1-1 Hungry Lions

Orbit College went on a five-match winless run to see their play-off aspirations slip further away following a 1-1 draw with Hungry Lions.

Di Tau, who came into the tie with a loss to Baroka FC, were ahead at the break but failed to hold on as Orbit recovered to claim a point.

Venda Football Academy 1-1 Maritzburg United

Maritzburg United lost some ground with the top-three after surrendering a halftime advantage to settle for a 1-1 draw with Venda Football Academy.

The Team of Choice’s promotion play-off chances received a big boost over the weekend following a 2-0 win over the league leaders Magesi FC.

However, Xolani Slawula made the breakthrough to see the visitors well on their way to maximum points but Thabelo Tshikweta hit back in the latter exchanges and sealed a point for Venda.
