The other day, while scrolling on social media, I came across the quote, "Buy a bag and get over it," and I found it so encouraging. Bags, to a certain degree can help you get through things.

After a week of binging on Paris Fashion Week images, I am in love. Before I could rave about how effortlessly chic the outfits were, the bags had me captured, from a pouch, cross-body, shoulder, and tote bags.

The designs, colours and craftsmanship were luxe to the core.

Bottega Veneta bags were quite a hit in the streets of Paris and this is testament to the success of the luxury brand in recent months.

Other luxury brands are also recovering from the wrath of the pandemic.

In July, LVMH and Gucci owner Kering's second quarter revenue passed expectations.

"All our houses contributed to a sharp rebound in total revenue, which comfortably exceeded its 2019 level, with a remarkable acceleration in the second quarter," Kering chairman and CEO, Francois-Henri Pinault said in a statement.

Kering added that Gucci rose by 4%, Saint Laurent by 15%, Bottega Venetta by 30% and the other houses category including Balenciaga, Alexander McQueen, climbed to 20%.

For the first quarter of 2021, Christian Dior also recorded a 32% revenue increase compared to the same period in 2020. At the end of June, Hermes also recorded a 77% increase compared to 2020. The same climb in revenue for Chanel applies, the French luxury house reported that revenues grew by double digits in the first six months of 2021.
