2. This glistening detailed skull armchair is a super-villain's dream. The 24-carat-gold chair is handmade and crafted in Paris by Harow. The upholstery decked with black velvet is worth $500 000 (R8 446 375).
3. Believe it or not, this is actually a table that you can use. The Villiers Cyclone Console table is handcrafted from steel by English craftsmen. This peculiar table, spray painted with old penny bronze, stands on its own platform and is worth $19 009 (R321 542).
4. Isn’t this adorable? Having a huge hippopotamus that you can actually hug without having it kill you? Created by artist Maximo Riera, it is made of fine leather and weighs 90kgs. This limited edition piece is worth £70 000 (R1 674 601).
5. The Tranquillity Pod allows you to crawl in and sleep, or daydream all your troubles away. The pod has great features: it's 90% sound proof, has memory foam waterbed cushioning, 50 colour-changing LED lights and an 80-watt four-speaker sound system which produce vibrations as you snooze. 6. The Graypants Arcturus Pendant lamp looks like a replica of Jupiter and is really one-of-a-kind. The spherical lamp is made out of repurposed cardboard, steel and glass, which is cut by lasers. These pieces are handcrafted and sculpted to create a distinctive and stunning design. The lamp is retailed at $10 566 (R 178 727).
7. Fashion designer Alexander Wang collaborated with Poltrona Frau to make the ultimate furniture piece – a bean bag. But this isn’t an ordinary bean bag, this is a bean bag on a pedestal. The brass footed, black shearling and leather bean bag is $8 800 (R148 854), which can come with a bar cabinet (that block in the middle) with brass shelves for $18 500 (R312 933).
8. This Belgravia London Bespoke desktop bar looks like it belongs in a palace. The 23-carat-gold plating with Arabescato veined marble and faceted crystal was designed by Jo Sampson. The collection comes in a range of colours from the blue leather Bloomsbury to the gold trimmed crystal Knightsbridge. The Belgravia desktop bar is $57 365 (R970 346).
9. This unique human-form chair replicates the famous Spanish artist Salvador Dalí’s 1935 painting Femme à la Tête Rose and will bring drama to every room it stands in. Covered with solid brass and polished with lustrous sheen, the chair has three high heeled legs and a curving arm which forms the backrest. The Salvador Dalí Leda Chair is worth £17 595 (R420 923).
