It is admirable to see women become shape-shifters, challenging the status quo and holding their own in positions of power.
Six finalists were selected among 250 visionaries up for the Bold Woman Award, which recognises and honours the women entrepreneurs and founders or CEOs who have demonstrated transformation and evolution in their field, supported growth for at least two years and maintained an ethical approach to business.
In this category, Gugu Sithole, director of Glamping Adventures, Mathebe Molise, founder of Beauty on TApp and Yolisa Tshabalala, co-founder and Director at Imizizi were finalists.
Gugu won the Bold Award, apart from thriving in the travel industry and her innate love for discovering and exposing the country's hidden gem, her passion lies in making travel accessible to everyone. This includes development in rural tourism with a particular emphasis on helping rural women start their own enterprises.

In 2014, Veuve Clicquot launched the Bold Future Award which recognises the women entrepreneurs of tomorrow.
These are women who made a tangible contribution to transformation in an existing market. Captain Londy Ngcobo who is the founder of Global Maritime Youth and Director at Womaritime Experts won the award.
She was a finalist alongside Mbali Sebapu, founder of Hermosa Flor Cosmetics and Phumzile Chifunyise of founder of The Crop Box Africa. Londy is a global ship navigator and Africa's first female dredge master captain. Her passion is all about unlocking Africa's ocean economy.
Among the jury for the astute award was internationally acclaimed fashion designer Lukhanyo Mdingi, businesswomen Ayanda Dambuza and Matsi Modise.
