Anna Wintour and Naomi Campbell have shared decades of fashion and personal moments with André Leon Talley.

At the height of his career in the 80s, when he became the first-ever male black American creative director for Vogue, they were among people he would be seen with at niche fashion events.

Vogue Editor-in-chief, Anna Wintour, shared some iconic moments, especially fashion shows' front row seat images of them together. With sharp concentration on the ramp, sunglasses, André often folded arms on the snaps.

"Yet it's the loss of Andre as my colleague and friend that I think of now; it's immeasurable. He was magnificent and erudite and wickedly funny—mercurial, too," she shares.

Their decades-long relationships had complicated moments that André touches on in his book, The Chiffon Trenches: A Memoir.

"But all I want to remember today, all I care about, is the brilliant and compassionate man who was a generous and loving friend to me and to my family for many, many years, and who we will all miss so much," Anna says.

Naomi shared her fondest memories with the fashion visionary, saying: "So much to say but can’t say all, from flying in helicopters in Brazil and landing in a football field in a storm, to running around Moscow buying Russian dolls and typical Russian hats, to dancing around in my hotel room in Paris and showing you different walks, to hosting my 40th birthday party in Antibes, to our last trip in 2019 to Nigeria."

The model thanked him for his contribution to her career, sharing:

"Your unconditional love and support has never wavered, from encouraging me to pick up the phone and calling Anna Wintour and asking for my first American vogue cover September issue to giving me the the confidence to learn the Michael Jackson dance for our super bowl sobe commercial... to just sitting in bed ordering room service watching tv, you were Andre a ray of light filled with laughter and positivity that played a huge impact of our everlasting family ship."
