  • The year 2020 didn’t just change the way we work and socialise but also the way we do beauty.
  • DIY facials, masks, and haircare became all the rage with many people shifting their focus to a more hygienic, ‘less is more’ approach to beauty.
  • With 2021 already in full swing, here are the beauty trends expected to dominate this year.

A stronger focus on hygiene

Similarly to 2020, this year’s beauty regime will have a stronger focus on hygiene according to Real Simple.

Beauty brands such as Kylie Cosmetics and NCLA beauty have already added hand sanitisers to their product ranges.

As mentioned by Glossy Box, hygiene products such as sanitisers are expected to become more luxurious in 2021, formulated to be more gentle on the skin and microbiome.

Products geared toward Maskne

It seems masks are not going anywhere any time soon. So, in line with 2020 trends, there is expected to be a surge in products targeted at ‘maskne’ in 2021.

As mentioned by Real Simple, products such as soothing face sprays, breakout combatting creams, and face masks formulated to relieve the ‘symptoms’ of maskne are going to be on the rise in 2021

Dewy skin tints

Moreover, according to allure, Dewy skint tints are going to replace high coverage foundations.
