The latest person who is unfortunately responsible for the 2019 CFDA awards making some not-so-positive headlines is its red carpet host, celebrity stylist June Ambrose.
Costume designer and long-time stylist to Jay Z, June Ambrose, was selected as the CFDA Fashion Awards’ official red carpet host at the Brooklyn Museum. The unfortunate moment that had the fashion community in disbelief was when June asked entrepreneur and influencer Hannah Bronfman if the designer she was dressed by, Kate Spade, was attending the awards.
The founder of the brand, Kate Spade, sadly died by suicide in 2018. Social media users were not impressed and this blunder was met with comments accusing June of being insensitive.
I’m sorry BUT do your research or have an earpiece in if you’re going to host the CFDA red carpet and ask Hannah Bronfman if Kate Spade is there with her. pic.twitter.com/VbCyHVQySo

While this error has occurred in the most unfortunate of circumstances, live red carpet reports have created some of the most cringeworthy moments. Whether it’s wardrobe malfunctions or unfortunate utterances from the hosts, the red carpet hardly gets a break. Here we have the top two other red carpet moments that match this CFDA one and completely stopped us on our tracks.

Not too long ago, in what seemed to be a debut of post-baby abs, Cardi B found herself the topic on social media when she was accused of having a wardrobe malfunction at the Billboard Music Awards. The yellow Moschino two piece was thought to have malfunctioned to reveal her crotch area thanks to the high cut-out design. Amid the social media frenzy, Cardi B was quick to deny that her outfit ever malfunctioned.
Another painful red carpet moment was during the 2015 Oscars E! Entertainment red carpet review that had actress Zendaya offended courtesy of co-host Giuliana Rancic comments. On the show, which we subsequently heard was aired after three takes of that segment, Giuliana commented that Zendaya’s faux loc hairstyle must have smelled of “patchouli” and “weed.” Zendaya took offense and expressed it in this Twitter post:

To which Guiliana apologised.
Dear @Zendaya, I'm sorry I offended you and others. I was referring to a bohemian chic look. Had NOTHING to do with race and NEVER would!!!

June Ambrose concluded her red carpet coverage for the CFDA saying: “It has been my honour and pleasure to host and to screw up and to cause chaos,” a possible acknowledgement of her blunder earlier.
