Controversial ad slams ANC

The ad, which normally says “Together we can move South Africa forward” in the traditional colours of the leading party (black green and yellow), has been edited to say “Together led (inserted) “by men” we can move South Africa forward. Over 51% of the population are women. We deserve more than one female premier.”

"The ad is simply saying what many women are thinking across the country. Women make up more than half of our population, yet this is not reflected in our government. Jesse Duarte NEC member openly broke protocol on the lack of women in government to the media.  She feels that there are more than enough qualified female candidates within the party to take up leadership positions," says WHEAT Women's Fund director, Soraya Mentoor.
