Fear no more!

accreditation
SCENARIO A:
A new position opens up at work and although you long for a greater challenge and an increase in salary, you fail to apply for it.

SCENARIO B:
You meet a great guy who is upfront about his feelings for you, but because you’ve had a few bad wraps in the past, you simply brush his interest aside and waiver any chance he thinks he may have with you.

SCENARIO C:
You’ve seen the crowd in the 6pm dance class at gym and the amount of fun they’re having is obvious by the shrieks of laughter echoing through the glass doors. You’re fascinated, but you doubt that you’ve got ‘enough’ rhythm so you walk away and stick to your routine on the treadmill.

Why do we doubt ourselves?
Fear is the main reason why so many of us are stuck in our dead-end jobs or left lonely and miserable with life.

Not good enough. Not experienced enough. Not deserving enough.  These words, these fears… they not only prevent you from developing and reaching your true potential, but they also impede on your happiness and feed off your self-esteem.

But no more! Yes ladies, it’s time to take charge of your life and the direction in which you are going…

What you will need:
-    Courage
-    Positivity
-    Excitement

Getting back in the game is easier than you think. Cathy Eden shares her tips below:

Identify your doubts
Is it really true that you are too fat, too old, or too stupid to do something that you would like to do? Are you ruled by a negative thought pattern that says "I can't" the moment something new or threatening presents itself?

Try to find the origin of your negative beliefs about yourself. They are often rooted in messages you received as a child ("You can't do that – you're a girl."; "You don't have the brains to be a..."; "No one will love you with a face like that."). Childhood conditioning can destroy self-esteem.

Jump in
Once you have realised that your block is not based on fact, take the plunge and try something new. Sign up for that course, apply for that job, or tell someone special that you would like to spend time together. Start with small challenges and notice how your confidence improves.

If we don't push the boundaries a little, we don't grow.

Commit to action
Just thinking about doing something is not going to get you anywhere: you have to begin, or you will wake up one day and find that your life has passed you by.

Many people procrastinate endlessly, staying in unfulfilling situations out of a fear of change. Change can be uncomfortable, but committing to the step that you know you need to take opens a world of new possibilities.

Believe in yourself
Re-programme your thoughts with new, positive affirmations that you are strong enough, brave enough and clever enough to tackle whatever your heart desires, and watch your words come true.
