Before agreeing to be a bridesmaid, you already have a pretty good idea of how the bride is when she is under pressure, stressed, angry, and disappointed.

That knowledge can assist you in handling a breakdown while planning or during the wedding. Unfortunately, for these unlucky bridesmaids, the weddings they were in were nothing like they hoped when they were invited to the bridal party.

Here is a compilation of bridesmaids who found themselves at the receiving end of an unhappy bride as reported so far this year.

The fat-shamed bridesmaid

The Daily Mail reported that a bridesmaid was shamed by the bride after requesting that she gets a custom made t-shirt as part of the bridal party. All other bridesmaids already had the matching t-shirts, for which the bride paid. However, due to her bigger frame, this particlular bridesmaid's t-shirt would cost slightly more than what each of the other t-shirts cost.

Refusing the request, the bride took to Facebook to vent her frustrations. She mentioned that the bigger t-shirt would cost her 7$ (+/-R100) becuase of the extra fabric needed to make it. Facebook users took no time to call her out for fat-shaming her bridesmaid.

Some users understood where the bride was coming from, others were frustrated by the fact that the bride showed no remorse for fat-shaming her bridesmaid.

The bridesmaid who was asked to get an abortion

An unnamed woman was due to be a bridesmaid when the bride-to-be asked her to get an abortion as there are no kids allowed at the wedding. Taking to Facebook the bridesmaid shared her experience, “She reminded me that it was a kid free wedding, and then after thoroughly explaining how difficult her wedding would be for me, she said (verbatim) 'so don't you think it might be better for you to have an abortion?'”

The bride told her bridesmaid that she is ruining her life and called her mother to tell her to get an abortion. The pair are no longer in talking terms as the bridesmaid never RSVP’d for the wedding.

The bridesmaid explained how she had been struggling to conceive and when she found out that she’s be having a daughter she was ecstatic and wanted to share the news with her friend (the bride-to-be), but she didn't anticipate the response she got.

The uninvited cousin who refused to be a bridesmaid

Being invited to a wedding is exciting and being asked to be a bridesmaid is even better, but what happens when you don’t feel comfortable being part of the wedding due to personal reasons? Here’s what happened to this Reddit user when she refused to be her cousin’s bridesmaid at the last minute.

According to 10 Daily, the bride in a text, asked the cousin to fill in as one of her friends had just pulled out. The cousin politely declined on two occassions as she felt uncomfortable with being in a bridal party.

The refusal seemingly upset the bride and she turned to emotional blackmail to get her way, saying, "It doesn't matter if it makes you uncomfortable. You [are] just supposed to do things for your family. You're too fat to be a bridesmaid anyways I can't believe I wasted my time asking you."

We certainly hope being a bridesmaid never has to be this painful for anyone. Have you found yourself in a similar situation. Please share your story with us here.
