Hailey Bieber wins copyright lawsuit against her skincare line

Hailey Bieber has won the copywrite lawsuit over her skincare line name. 

In June, a New-York based clothing company, also named Rhode, filed a copyright lawsuit against the model for using the same name in her skincare line. 

But a judge has since dismissed the claim in Hailey's favour.

Hailey launched her brand a few days before the suit was filed, using her middle name for the skincare line. 

The clothing company, founded by Purna Khatau and Phoebe Vickers in 2014, argued that Hailey's company name infringed on their trademark. 

In a statement issued to Page Six in June, the pair's legal team claimed Hailey tried to acquire the trademark from the designers in 2018, but the duo refused. Following this, Hailey went along with her brand anyway.

Now, The Blast reports that Hailey argued against the claim, saying that as a clothing line and a skincare line, their companies were separate enough to eliminate confusion for the public. 

A judge denied the clothing brand's motion for a preliminary injunction and denied the request to block Hailey's making of Rhode documentary from being released.
