Jada Pinkett Smith spoke out for the first time months since the controversial Oscar night where her husband, Will Smith, slapped comedian Chris Rock for joking about Jada's bald head.

The Red Table Talk had an alopecia special to tell stories of people living with the condition.

In the episode that recently aired, Jada said 147 million people in the world are living with alopecia, including herself and that she was using the moment to allow her alopecia family to talk about what it is like to have this condition and to inform people about what alopecia is.

"There is so much shame around living with alopecia. And when you go bald, you don't have a choice," she said.

Although she has opened up about hair loss before, after the Oscars in March, this condition was under the spotlight.

"Considering what I have been through with my own health and what happened at the Oscars, thousands have reached out to me with their stories. Now, about the Oscar night, my deepest hope is that these two intelligent, capable men have an opportunity to heal, talk this out and reconcile," she said in the episode.

"The state of the world today, we need them both, and we actually need one another more than ever. Until then, Will and I are continuing to do what we have done for the last 28 years, and that's to keep figuring out this thing called life together."
