The British actress who is of Jamaican descent joins the spy franchise as Nomi, the first female 007, as she has taken over Bond's code name while he's in retirement.
Lashana has reflected on her career success. "It used to scare me knowing there were little black girls around the world that potentially are looking up to me and what I do, but I soon realised it's a golden opportunity to speak to those I care about through my work," she shares.

She further shares it was a privilege to play Maria Rambeau on Captain Marvel and give an ode to single black mothers who are truly heroes. She adds that she is proud to fly her a big Jamaican flag up in MI6 as a 00 agent.
