Risk factors of laryngitis

• Exposure to irritants distributed by air-conditioning systems such as mould, pollen and pollutants
• Extremely cold weather
• Smoking
• Excessive alcohol consumption
• Recent respiratory illness such as bronchitis or pneumonia
