The recent 'Toyzuki' partnership has ruffled some feathers in South Africa among loyal customers, but Suzuki Auto says the venture is more good news than people would think.
The thing is, Suzuki's success is unstoppable, and it is only growing from strength to strength. And while automaker ventures are nothing new, the Suzuki and Toyota partnership has raised some eyebrows and concerns from loyal fans.
Our readers can't help but wonder if these are Suzuki cars, why is everyone buying the Toyota versions?
Wheels24 reader JBLX, shared his deep concerns about Suzuki not benefitting from this joint venture we have dubbed "ToyZuki".
JBLX wrote: "This Suzuki/Toyota partnership is definitely not beneficial to Suzuki in South Africa in its current form or arrangement. I also cannot see any future benefit for that in the long run with our current economic climate. If this was my business, I would honestly renegotiate the terms and conditions of this partnership as I would be carrying a loss while my partner[s] would be dancing all the way to the bank."
At the recent Swift launch, Wheels24 asked Suzuki Auto SA's brand marketing manager, Brendon Carpenter how the company really feels about the venture and if it was really working for them
