Not so long ago, all eyes were on him when Rihanna wore a Thebe Magugu merino wool fringe knitted dress when she made a grand announcement about Fenty being available in Africa.
Here he is again exporting South African heritage beautifully.
The designer has announced a new limited-edition Heritage Dress featuring cultural illustrations by artist Phathu Nembwili.
Taking to Instagram, Thebe Magugu shared that the capsule features a free-flowing crepe Bohemian-style dress with bishop sleeves and a foulard neckline.
The eight dresses featured in this capsule have a painting interpreting South African culture, particularly Zulu, Tswana, Swati, Vhavenda, Pedi, Xhosa, Tsonga, and Sotho tribes.

In an interview with Vogue, Thebe said he is always focusing on stories that are quite niche, but run the risk of being forgotten.
Thebe, who is from the Tswana tribe, is known for telling a story behind his designs, often referencing his own family.
His interpretation of fashion from the yesteryears is fascinating. The story behind the creation brings out all the intrigue.

"We're [Tswana tribe] best known for our storytelling and our handwork, but all the other cultures have their own traditions and quirks that I really wanted to represent in a dress," he told Vogue.
The Heritage Dress will become available in South Africa on the 1st of June on www.thebemagugu.com. It will also be available in New York at Two Minds (@twomindsnyc) and London & Cape Town at Merchants on Long (@merchantsonlong).
