There is an old saying that ‘cleanliness is close to godliness,’ this basically means that it is important to always keep yourself and space clean. Hence, The Mattress Warehouse decided to uncover everyone’s dirty secrets by consulting with a microbiologist to determine the dirtiest items in your home.

In addition a survey of over 2000 South Africans was conducted to determine how often people are cleaning these common household items.

More than half of the survey respondents indicated that they are either confident or very confident that their homes are clean, with around 87% saying they clean their kitchen sinks on a daily basis.

I asked how other women keep their dirtiest items clean, here's what they said:

The dirtiest item in my household is the mirror. I try to keep it clean by using a mirror cleaner spray, if I don’t have it then I use water and a cloth.
Adelaide Phasha

It has to be the balcony. Well, I make sure I tidy up whenever my little sisters are done playing with their toys. It’s just a matter of following up once they done and put everything in its rightful place
Gabby Sibanda

The dirtiest thing in my household is definitely the kitchen sink, because everyone eats throughout the day and the dirty dishes go in the sink. I keep it clean by telling everyone to wash their dishes after eating.
