Enthusiastic, daring adventurers. That's how astrologer and polarity therapist Michaela Meiser defines the Sagittarius child.
Ruled by the planet Jupiter, Sagittarius is often portrayed as the mythological centaur or archer.
Born between 22 November and 21 December, your Sagittarius child seeks freedom and novelty and will struggle with the structure and order of childhood.

'For a Sag, there is always a way'
Meiser describes Sagittarius as "very enthusiastic souls" who exude a "can-do attitude". With this sun sign, all things are possible.
"For a Sag, there is always a way. They can bring hope and faith by seeing the positive."
They also make wonderful storytellers, who might weave together tales of adventure – which may just be their way of preparing for their travels one day.

'Freedom to roam'
"Sagittarius is a mutable fire sign and loves to explore new horizons – the sky is the limit and freedom to roam of utmost importance," Meiser says.
They're natural-born adventurers who don't do well with routine and restrictions.
Books are highly recommended for these children, Meiser says, as stories will allow them to exercise their need for exploration.
Books on various cultures will prove very popular with your Sagittarius child, the astrologer suggests.
A physical hobby like horseback riding will suit the Sagittarius child quite well. A pet might also be a great companion for these little wanderers.
"Above all, allow them to be out and about, so they can meet people of all kinds to satisfy their immense hunger for all life has to offer," the astrologer recommends.
'Prone to exaggerations'
Learning will be a fun pastime for your Sagittarius child. However, they'll focus more on broader topics than "nitty-gritty details", Meiser notes.
They may also need guidance in staying grounded in reality, the astrologer says, as the Sagittarius child is "prone to exaggerations".
"Bold and daring in whatever they do, they like to go big if they can, and will need some containing in their constant hunger for new pastures."

'The fixed signs can be quite a challenge'
Meiser says the Sagittarius child is agreeable generally and will be easily raised by a fellow Sagittarius.
Aries, Leo, Sagittarius, Gemini, Libra and Aquarius parents will find they can relate to their Sagittarius child with little fuss.
Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn parents will find the relationship with their Sagittarius child less harmonious, Meiser says, since they're more likely to be strict parents.
"They find it hard to deal with a pessimistic or narrow-minded attitude, so a Virgo parent, for example, being too critical or fearful for the little Sag to get hurt or ill, could clash with their natural needs. Also, the fixed signs (e.g., Taurus, Scorpio) can be quite a challenge, tampering with the natural need for movement and versatility."
These astrologically mismatched parent-child relationships sound daunting. However, Meiser says the birth chart can be useful for understanding specific relationship dynamics.
"Each parent will have a different connection to the child, and a good understanding of the individual connections will enlighten the parents on their specific role with the child."
