"I've tried to meditate, I just can't do it, my mind is just too busy." If I had a buck for every time I have heard that, I would be rolling in cash.
The truth is, I also "tried" to meditate on and off for many years, always coming to that same conclusion. I found the whole thing impossible and a bit irritating, and got up from my attempts feeling aggravated and unhappy.
I personally think meditation and mindfulness are the ultimate practice for developing the capacity to be aware of our mind's shenanigans. And since it is in these shenanigans that our suffering, lack of confidence, lack of self-worth, and well-being are created, awareness is our greatest ally.
