Veronica Paeper's production of A Christmas Carol: The Story of Scrooge is set in Victorian England and based on the novel by Charles Dickens.

Danced by the Cape Town City Ballet to recorded music, it tells the tale of a miserly old man who changes his ways to embrace the goodwill and generosity of the festive season.

Ebenezer Scrooge is a greedy and nasty employer who loves money much more than people and shows his overworked clerk, Bob Cratchit, no mercy as he toils away at his desk on Christmas Eve.
