A whopping 25 000 people packed into the Wanderers Stadium in Ilovo this weekend to celebrate love, unity and the struggle of the LGBTQI+ community at the 34th annual Pride March.
"This year's march held particular significance as we marched not only for our local LGBTQI+ community, but also in solidarity with our Ugandan and African counterparts who face unique challenges in their fight for equality," said Johannesburg Pride chairperson Kaye Alley.
"We were honoured to raise awareness for those who cannot march for themselves, shining a spotlight on the issues faced by LGBTQI+ individuals across the African continent."
