In most households, matriarchal figures are the source of style inspiration, and this holds true for musician Black Coffee.

Speaking to News24 at the launch of his latest business, South Africa's first Amiri store, Black Coffee said his earliest memory of fashion was anchored to his mother.

The musician, whose real name is Nkosinathi Innocent Maphumulo, also revealed he was working on a family project with his sister, and they have been going through old family photos in preparation for this.
