  • Reflecting on the procedure, she said it benefitted her more than she thought it would.

After wanting to get her breasts reduced for a "while", actor and rapper Boity Thulo took the plunge earlier in the year and had a mastopexy. She opened up about her decision to go under the knife on social media this week.

Per Cleveland Clinic, a mastopexy or breast lift is a surgery to lift, reshape and tighten breasts. It can remove asymmetry and other imperfections. The procedure can also be combined with breast augmentation or reductions. The results of mastopexy are noticeable immediately, but there are risks.

The Bakae hitmaker underwent procedure earlier in the year, on 28 February.

"I'm actually really excited," Boity said in a video ahead of the procedure.

"I'm excited because I've been wanting to decrease these for a while. It's been really tough with my lower back, and I just got tired of not being able to fit into the kind of garments that I enjoy wearing because I always worried about how big and also how uneven my breasts have been, so I just felt like it was time."

In the caption, she said the procedure benefitted her in more ways than she thought it would.

Speaking in one of the videos Boity shared, her doctor, Bruce Lelala, said her procedure included moulding and lifting her breasts from where they were.
