Famed playwright and musician Mbongeni Ngema's younger brother and family spokesperson, Nhlanhla Ngema, has dismissed claims that there is a process in place to exhume the body of his brother for reburial in his home town, eMfana.

The Sarafina! creator was killed in a head-on collision in Lusikisiki in the Eastern Cape while returning from a funeral. He was buried on 5 January at Heroes Acre in the Red Hill Cemetery, Durban.

"There's no such thing; it was also a shock to us as the Ngema family to read about it," he told News24.
