After back surgery, comedian Leon Schuster spent some time in a Pretoria hospital and was sent home three days ago to recover at home.

Due to his surgery, Schuster could not sit but could walk and lie down. "I'm home from hospital now, but I've got severe pain from this operation," he tells News24

What led to the surgery was years of physical strain and impact.

"It's all the years of punishment that I took," he shares. He played rugby in the Free State for many years as a hooker.

"All that pressure it puts on your neck and back, that's where it started. I've had back problems since I was young. I just never attended to it."
