Anderson Cooper has welcomed his second child with his former partner, Benjamin Maisani.
The CNN anchor announced the happy news on CNN on Thursday by first reflecting on the birth of his first son, Wyatt.
"Well, this is Wyatt today. He's nearly 22 months old, and he is sweet and funny and the greatest joy in my life," Cooper said as a current photo of Wyatt pulled into the slide.
"If he looks particularly happy in this picture, it's because he now has a baby brother. His name is Sebastian, and I would like you to meet him," he added.
The bundle of joy weighed just under 6.8 pounds (3kg) at birth and is "healthy and happy even his occasional hiccups are to me adorable".
"He mostly just sleeps and eats, and he certainly poops, but he already seems like a wise and thoughtful little chap," Anderson said.
While Anderson and Benjamin have not been involved romantically for some time, the CNN anchor confirmed that they are "best friends" and "co-parents". He added that Benjamin is in the process of adopting Wyatt, which will change the toddler's last name to Maisani-Cooper – matching that of his new baby brother's.
