Multi-award-winning media personality and entrepreneur Bonang Matheba went bare-faced to silence critics in the latest post she shared on social media.

The House of BNG founder shared the video after receiving backlash from social media users for her campaign with skincare brand Nivea for their new cream range, Luminous 630. Matheba was criticised for applying the skincare products on her face, which was covered with make-up.

In the video, the former Metro FM host says it was day one of week one in the "exciting" four-week challenge with the skincare brand. The challenge is to achieve "luminous skin" in a four-week challenge.

"So far, so good," she says toward the end of the video. "My skin looks like it's gleaming and shining a little bit."

In another video, Matheba said she had been looking for brand new ways to keep her skin "healthy and radiant, especially during winter." She adds that after seeing before and after pictures, she believed it and was convinced the products worked.

While Matheba faced the criticism head-on, some social media users said it was the skincare brand's fault that she wore make-up.
