- Comic Con Africa organisers have revealed that iconic wrestler Bret Hart will be joining the line-up for the 2020 virtual event.
- Bret will "attend a live panel and a Q&A with fans".
- In June, Comic Con Africa announced their decision to cancel the 2020 event and instead host a virtual edition. The online con will take place on the original dates scheduled for the convention - 24 to 27 September.
In a statement to the press, Comic Con Africa organisers revealed that wrestling legend Bret "The Hitman" Hart had been added to the line-up of the 2020 event.
The convention, which has been known to draw in thousands of fans, will take place online due to the restrictions on large gatherings.
According to the statement, "Bret will attend a live panel and a Q&A with fans." Pre-recorded content from the wrestler will also be featured.
Comic Con Africa announced in June that moving forward with the 2020 edition of the convention was too risky, deciding instead to give fans a virtual version of the event.
"Despite months of planning, diligent consideration of the state of the pandemic dictates that cancelling the 2020 edition of Comic Con Africa is the only way forward," organisers said.
The convention was scheduled for 24 to 27 September, and the same dates will be used for the virtual event. Bret Hard is expected to appear on all four days.
Popular around the world, Comic Con first came to Africa in 2018. Since then the convention has hosted the likes of William Shatner, Travis Fimmel and Kevin Sussman.
