Kim Kardashian is being slammed for offering "tone deaf" advice for women in business.

The reality TV star said she has "the best advice for women in business" during an interview with Variety about her family's new reality show on Hulu.

"Get your fucking ass up and work," Kardashian says in a trending clip, adding that "it seems like nobody wants to work these days".

"You have to surround yourself with people that want to work. Have a good work environment where everyone loves what they do because you have one life. No toxic work environments," the 41-year-old added with her sister Kourtney affirming, "That's so true."

Twitter lit up with criticism for the Skims founder's comments.

Many pointed out that Kardashian grew up in a privileged environment with a father who was wealthy and famous in his own right.

Others commented on the reality of working long hours for minimum wage, with one user pointing out a reportedly actual job listing for an unpaid internship at Jenner Communications.

One user named Jessica DeFino claims she was an editor on the Kardashian apps in 2015 and suggested Kim's comments didn't align with her family's actions.

"[I] worked days nights and weekends, could only afford groceries from the 99 Cents Only Store, called out 'sick' more than once because I couldn't put gas in my car to get to the office, and was reprimanded for freelancing on the side," she wrote on Twitter.

Kardashian's comments come after a global study showed on average, women spent 173 additional hours doing unpaid labour caring for kids last year.

Elsewhere in the interview, Khloé Kardashian also offers business advice saying: "You just have to do what you're actually passionate about. It's not easy, regardless of how it looks. I think people see things, with instant gratification because of social media, that they think it just comes easy to people."

Kylie Jenner also offered input in the print interview, saying: "I hope that I've inspired other women to take chances and follow their dreams."
